What is Vibram®?
Vibram® is the brand name for a high-quality rubber sole from the Italian company of the same name from Albizzate. The development of the sole
can be traced back to a mountain accident in 1935, in which six mountaineers had to die due to unsuitable shoes. The Italian Vitale Bramani then
began researching soles that would be better suited to alpine terrain. Originally, the Vibram® sole was used in mountaineering boots in particular,
but soon found use in sports, hiking and motorcycle shoes as well.
Vibram® - properties
Vibram® soles are made from a special rubber compound that guarantees extremely good grip. The position, arrangement, shape and height of the profile of the sole has also been carefully thought out and optimized for the respective shoe use. As a rule, all mountain, hiking and trekking
shoes from the usual manufacturers are now equipped with a Vibram® sole and Vibram® soles are considered a quality feature.
